Department Information

Georgia Tech Human Resources (GTHR) serves the Institute and its more than 14,000 employees through strategic counsel, employee engagement, and essential human capital management operations. Job Summary

Provide Tier II technology support and training to faculty, staff, and students for various digital learning initiatives. Support digital learning initiatives at Georgia Tech, including production platforms utilized on a massive scale online, blended, or flipped educational content delivery and post-pilot transfer of technologies to centralized or unit support. Support academic applications and systems in partnership with clients and cloud providers. This position will interact on a regular basis with faculty, staff, students, and unit and department staff. This position typically will advise and counsel faculty, staff, and unit and department staff. This position will supervise NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1: Provide advanced enabling technology expertise, support, and training to partner faculty, staff, and project teams from initiation to completion for a variety of digital learning initiatives, including but not limited to production IT platforms for massive-scale online educational content delivery.

Job Duty 2: Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide variety of highly complex platform problems and advanced technical issues.

Job Duty 3: Assist faculty and staff with platform capabilities, technical questions, and individualized troubleshooting, and train and provide technology transfer as needed.

Job Duty 4: Document and define needs and requirements for digital learning usage in courses.

Job Duty 5: Assist in the design/creation of platform training, technology transfer, standardized configuration, documentation, and support for faculty and staff, as well as standard operating procedures for instructional staff.

Job Duty 6: Assist the management of the technical aspects of educational content delivery solutions and configurations of assessment and certificates.

Job Duty 7: Assist with one or more archive solutions for educational content.

Job Duty 8: Compare and contrast digital learning platforms and other digital learning technologies.

Job Duty 9: Perform initial requirements analysis, definition, design, and integration activities for new and existing academic applications and platforms.

Job Duty 10: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Information or Educational Technology, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

two or three years of job-related experience.

Preferred skills include web application and/or platform support OR digital learning technology solutions integration and delivery; Knowledge of support and/or administration of SIS (Genius) and LMS (Canvas); Knowledge of SCORM objects, course authoring tools, and online video (Articulate, Camtasia, etc.); Skills in scripting and automation of tasks; Knowledge of technical writing and documentation, Knowledge and experience with Service Now; Strong technical writing, documentation, and/or training; online learning, and/or learning management system environments; Knowledge of XML or other markup languages; Knowledge of the university or public sector environment; Knowledge of cloud-based services delivery; Knowledge of productivity software and related platforms, particularly in educational settings.

Proposed Salary

Pay Range: $61,618-$83,799/yr

Job Grade: I4

This job requires a proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex customer technology issues, particularly with cloud-based services; Skills in web application and/or platform support OR educational technology solutions integration and delivery, hardware and/or software; Proven ability to plan, organize, and multitask in order to meet deadlines; Excellent service delivery and customer focus; Strong knowledge of basic office applications; Strong knowledge of multiple operating system environments, including web browsers and media players; Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong team and interpersonal skills in a matrix environment; Highly responsive, positive, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to effectively coordinate and multitask among competing priorities; Working knowledge of massive open online courses, online learning, and/or learning management system environments; Knowledge of project management tracking tools.
