We specialize in heavy civil construction in the public infrastructure & private industrial markets, and we are committed to providing exceptional service to our clients. We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team.


As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the planning and execution of heavy civil site work, drainage, environmental, road, & highway projects. You will work alongside experienced project managers and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of project management. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of project estimates and budgets by performing take-offs & gathering vendor quotes.
  • Assisting with the management of job cost control and monitoring project financials by tracking purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, & project labor.
  • Scheduling and tracking production rates.
  • Supporting aspects of safety and quality control on job sites.
Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as engineering or construction management is desired but not required. 2-years minimum experience in a full-time project management related role is required. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a results-driven attitude. Other competencies that are required include:

Technical Aptitude & Experience

Qualified candidates will have experience in or the capacity to learn construction project scheduling and management software such as Primavera, Vista, Viewpoint, HCSS, or QuickBooks as well as the Microsoft suite.

Work Environment

Work environment includes office machines, electronics and filing systems. Frequent lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Constant sitting, typing, and reaching for long periods of time. Must have good hand/eye coordination. Required to sit at a computer for several hours at a time. This position also requires working in various construction job sites that can expose you to extreme weather conditions, such as high heat and humidity, cold, ice, snow, and rain. The job sites can also be loud due to the noise level from moving mechanical parts. Additionally, you may be required to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions, lift heavy objects, and walk or stand for long periods.


Physical Demands

The job requires you to have excellent stamina and physical strength to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects. You will also need good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to operate machinery and perform tasks effectively. The job requires you to work on uneven, steep, slippery, wet, muddy, and inconsistent ground, and you must be able to quickly move your arms and legs.
