We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler Lead to oversee and coordinate the activities of our material handling team. The Material Handler Lead will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility, supervising material handlers, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the material handling team.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to material handlers based on workload and priorities.
- Train new material handling team members on proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure that materials are received, stored, and distributed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks, verifying quantities and inspecting materials for damage or defects.
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill material requests and orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry and physical counts.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to prevent stockouts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to material handling activities.
- Enforce safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Collaborate with management to implement process improvements and streamline material handling operations.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide regular feedback to team members and conduct performance evaluations as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; logistics training preferred
- 2-3 years leadership experience
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
