Industrial Piping/Mechanical Foreman

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Industrial Piping/Mechanical Foreman for our mechanical contracting team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems with additional experience in general construction and agricultural settings. This role requires someone who can think innovatively and problem-solve effectively while overseeing various piping projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage industrial piping projects related to plumbing, HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems.
  • Supervise team members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Demonstrate expertise in a wide range of systems across plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical trades, including but not limited to steam, condensate, natural gas, propane, hydronic heating/cooling, potable water, waste, refrigerant, compressed air, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, domestic hot water, and medical gas.
  • Familiarity with various equipment and components such as steam boilers, air/water-cooled chillers, pumps, condensing units, evaporator units, water heaters, compressors, relievers, control valves, metering devices, flue, and fresh air piping.
  • Proficient in welding techniques (stick, TIG, MIG, orbital), Victaulic, Propress, soldering, brazing, Megapress, threading, swagelock, PVC/CPVC gluing, fusion welding, and compression methods.
  • Ability to reason and think outside the box to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize piping systems efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in industrial piping, preferably in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical trades.
  • Proficient knowledge of construction practices and agricultural environments.
  • Willingness and capability to pass VA and NC licensure exams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and safety compliance.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory):

  • Some electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Experience with processes related to welding, Victaulic, Propress, soldering, brazing, Megapress, threading, swagelock, PVC/CPVC gluing, fusion welding, and compression.
