Our transportation division is looking for an experienced diesel technician who takes pride in ensuring the trucks they maintain are in ready condition to keep our drivers safely on the road. The diesel technician is a self-starter, organized, and communicative individual. The diesel technician position is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. The diesel technician reports directly to the transportation manager and director of transportation/logistics.
- Regular Business Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm plus on-call after hours
- Starting Pay Rate: $24.75 - $27.00/ hour (based on experience)
- Company provided service truck
- New maintenance service shop
Primary Job Duties
- Maintain adequate records of repairs and service orders
- Maintain adequate inventory of parts, fluids, and tools
- Conducting preventative vehicle inspections of vehicle systems
- Complete routine maintenance of all Franklin Logistics fleet vehicles
- Complete non-warranty repairs of all Franklin Logistics fleet vehicles
- Responsible for install and removal of various truck accessories
- Responsible for decal removal of vehicles taken out of fleet inventory
- Maintain positive business relationship with company vendors
- Responsible for cleanliness of the maintenance shop
- Responsible for proper disposal and recycling of all fluids, tires, and materials in accordance with safety regulations and compliance
- Other vehicle maintenance duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License, CDL Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- In-depth knowledge of diesel components and operational mechanisms
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
