You will play an essential role in planning, managing, and executing the Club’s Youth Activities and assisting with other Member events throughout the season. This position focuses on connecting with people and motivating a team to achieve desired outcomes and developing themes for camps, and organizing activities for camps to ensure campers have an enjoyable experience.


The Youth Activities and Event Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the Club’s youth event calendar, recruiting, training, and scheduling camp staff throughout the season. In addition, they oversee lifeguards at the Beach Pavilion and have a food and beverage responsibility of helping with various Member events, banquets, and dining outlets throughout the season. This is a full-time position with benefits that offers a competitive salary.

Requirements:

Youth Activities

  • Have a passion and aptitude for teaching, training, and enhancing youth programming and events.
  • Plans, promotes, and generates enthusiasm and interest for the Club’s social programs; coordinates the efforts of volunteers and the Club’s staff.
  • Oversees and promotes youth programs at the Club, routinely combining current programming with new programs.
  • Keeps an accurate history file of each event; writes follow-up correspondence and surveys attendants accordingly.
  • Hires bands and entertainers; agree on fees and times; contracts for and monitors entertainment. Sets annual calendar for all youth and family programming.
  • Creates annual youth budget and completes all monthly analyses.
  • Works with the Communications Director to ensure events are promoted in a timely manner.
  • Oversees all youth camps (except Junior Golf and Junior Tennis) and helps coordinate within the Club schedule.

Food and Beverage

  • Assist the Member and Special Events Manager with planning, coordinating, and staging Banquets and Special Functions.
  • Assure that all Banquet billing is given to A/R on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with supervision of all Member Dining Outlets.
  • Assist pre-shift meetings with service staff to ensure smooth, efficient service, assign service stations, and coordinate the timing of all food and beverage orders to the Members'.

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • A degree in hospitality management, business management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in an upscale private country club environment is preferred.
  • Superior organization, leadership, and communication skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of general business, management, and supervisory practices.
