This opportunity is:

Location: Memphis, TN 38134

Days: Tues, Wed, Thurs; Fri as needed

Hours: 7:00 am- 3:30 pm

Part-time: Partial Benefit Eligible

In this role, you will:

  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
  • Analyze, review, and report testing results
  • Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

Is proficient at all duties of a Senior Medical Technologist including:

  • Follow established procedures for all activities during the pre-analytical, analytical and
  • post-analytical phases of patient testing. Analyze and interpret test results.
  • Perform LIS functions necessary to complete patient testing and specimen processing.
  • This includes ordering tests, ensuring accuracy of clinical data and releasing results to
  • clients.
  • Operate equipment, and perform and document routine maintenance.
  • Follow established quality control procedures for all tests. Identify unacceptable results
  • and initiate the appropriate corrective action.
  • Accurately document patient test results, related patient information, QC activities, and
  • corrective actions.
  • Oversee workflow and maintain schedules to meet daily workload. Coordinate workflow to
  • ensure the completion of time-sensitive tasks/requests.
  • Perform specialized tasks requiring advanced knowledge or expertise.
  • Ensure documentation of training of new hires and when new procedures are implemented.
  • Inventory and order supplies.
  • With little to no assistance, write SOPs.
  • Participate in department QA and documentation.
  • Communicate with department supervisor and other personnel to maintain workflow and resolve
  • pending issues.
  • Identify problem areas and develop recommendations for solutions to supervisor.
  • Keep department supervisor advised of personnel, procedure and workload issues.
  • Perform competency assessment of Technicians and Technologists
