Position: Rigger – 1st and 2nd Class
Job Location: Mobile, AL
Rate of Pay will depend on class and experience
Per Diem – must live 50+ miles from Jobsite
JOB DESCRIPTION: Shipyard Riggers assemble and install rigging gear such as cables, ropes, pulleys and winches to lift, lower, move or position machinery, structural steel and other heavy objects. They use weight handling equipment such as fork trucks, cranes, wire ropes (all types), end fittings, slings, winches, chain falls, boat slings, boat davits, and horizontal and verticals pad-eyes.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have 2-5 years’ experience in heavy shipboard rigging.
• Ability to use 1 – 40 ton Chain Falls
• Experience using Chain Hoists, Shackles and Wire Rope to rig & move loads
• Knowledge of Weight Calculations for centering & lifting loads
• Knowledge of rigging knots and splicing rope
• Experience with crane load hook-ups and crane hand signals
• Must have own tools
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
• Must be able to pass physical and drug screen
• Day Shift available
• 40-80 hours per week
