Loews Hotels & Co has ventured into Kansas City, MO with the new Loews Kansas City Hotel. The 800-room hotel features 60,000 square feet of meeting & function space, with a sky bridge connecting to the 800,000 square foot Kansas City Convention Center. The hotel marks the first hotel catering to groups & meetings to open in more than 20 years in Kansas City. Two signature restaurants, a Grab & Go bakery and a rooftop lounge will round out this all glass, 24 story hotel, which stands out on the citys skyline. Loews Kansas City is located at the cornerstone of an already vibrant and continuously growing downtown Kansas City.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the layout of the project
  • Estimate height, width, length and other proportions
  • Select materials
  • Work with blueprints or instructions form supervisors.
  • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall
  • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
  • Join materials with nails, screw, staples, or adhesives
  • Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of building
  • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
  • Work with prefabricated buildings
  • Install cabinets and moldings
  • Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors
  • Repair or build furniture
  • Install partitions, doors, and windows

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, or equivalent GED
  • Minimum of 3 year working as a carpenter, in a cabinet shop or other commercial setting
  • Valid state driver License
