Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Credit and Collections Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing credit and collections activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments, and maintaining positive relationships with our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers based on financial data and credit reports.
• Establish and maintain credit limits for customers in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
• Negotiate payment plans and terms with customers to resolve outstanding issues.
• Prepare and send collection letters and statements to customers.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and disputes.
• Analyze customer payment trends and recommend improvements to credit and collections processes.
• Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, collections efforts, and credit risk assessment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Credit and Collections Specialist or similar role in a distribution or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of credit principles, collections techniques, and credit risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
