Job Description
Consider joining the Sitework Crew at EV Construction, prepping and working on some of West Michigan's most exciting commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate would have at least some experience operating heavy equipment used in earthwork, utility installation, and other commercial excavating.
Duties include:
- General labor duties – working outdoors in year-round conditions on various construction sites.
- Operate routinely used hand tools and equipment—shovels, come-along rakes, compactors, levels, jackhammers, saws, etc.
- Move materials around a job site.
- Use hand signals to coordinate actions with equipment operators and other crew members.
Prior experience in the following preferred:
- Operate a range of earthwork and utility equipment; loaders, compactors, skidsteers, tractors, etc.
- Installing storm, sanitary and waterline pipe. Cut, sling and carry pipe.
- Set manholes and catch basins.
- Check and adjust grades.
- Know how to read plans and specs.
- Know how to use a laser / transit.
- Have a CDL.
EV Construction has several other trade divisions where crew members can work during times when sitework is challenging due to weather conditions.
