Downtown Music Publishing is looking for a Copyright Coordinator to assist in onboarding new clients, deals, and songs to prep them for global registration and royalty collection. This person will report to the Director of Copyright and work within our Onboarding team in the US and abroad.

This hybrid position can based in our Nashville, Los Angeles, New York locations.What you'll do:
  • Work with the Copyright Team to onboard new clients
  • Ingestion of musical works into internal rights management system
  • Registration of works with foreign and domestic PRO/CMOs, licensing hubs, and the US Copyright Office
  • Delivery of works to DSPs and other business partners
  • Resolution of issues that may negatively impact catalog ingestion, registration, and delivery
    • Work to resolve all inquiries and counterclaims from Collection Societies, licensing hubs, and other music publishers
    • Collaborate closely with Client Relations team to identify and manage priorities, collect and respond to client feedback on catalog issues, and ensure quick, efficient, and accurate registration of priority clients
    • Maintain, improve and manage processes for merging duplicate works internally
    • Collaborate closely with Royalties team to provide copyright information and resolve copyright issues to facilitate accurate and timely royalty collection, processing, and distribution
    • Respond to requests from Client Relations team to investigate and resolve issues and errors with accounts, catalogs, interested parties, and works
    • Reports to the Director, Copyright
You are / have:
  • Eager to learn and interested in data and publishing administration.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Basic experience on the administrative side of music publishing; familiarity with PROs, writer/publisher splits, etc.

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
