Construction Materials Lab Tech

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Performs field and laboratory tests relating to hot mix asphalt, aggregate materials, and concrete.

- Uses lab instruments to determine pavement compositions.

- Performs material sampling of asphalt hot mix, aggregates and concrete.

- Conducts material testing using TXDOT quality control guidelines.

- Reviews plans to ensure compliance with testing specifications.

- Work will be within a field laboratory in at the Sullivan City, Texas plant.

Job Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 1 year minimum construction materials testing experience.

- Currently hold Level 1A AGG101 Certification or able to obtain one within 90 days of hire or as

   scheduled.

- High School Diploma or GED.

- Motivated and self-directed individual with excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to read plans/specifications highly preferred.

- Precision in work and attention to detail.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Must be able to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work activities.

- Ability to work both outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors.

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

- Valid driver’s license in good standing. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
