Job Summary:
James Chevrolet is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the role of Automotive Service Writer at our dealership in Johnstown, New York. This is a Full Time, salary Technician/Skilled Labor/Contractor position in the fast-paced and ever-evolving auto industry. As the Automotive Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service and maximizing our dealership's profitability by managing service appointments, communicating with customers, and working closely with our team of technicians.

Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, individual contributor role with a competitive salary range of $40,000 to $70,000 per year, paid biweekly. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and employee discounts on services and products.

Responsibilities:
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, while effectively listening to and addressing their concerns.
• Schedule service appointments and maintain a busy and efficient service schedule.
• Communicate with customers about service updates, costs, and completion times.
• Provide accurate and detailed repair estimates.
• Consult with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and repairs.
• Review and complete work orders, ensuring all necessary information is documented.
• Maintain and update customer and vehicle information to ensure accurate records.
• Build and maintain positive and lasting relationships with customers.
• Monitor and manage the service department's workflow and productivity.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
• Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with changes in technology and automotive industry standards.

Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent. Associates or Technical degree preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and experience with dealership management software.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Knowledge of automotive repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
