Maumee Bay Lodge, a premier Hotel, Restaurant & Event facility in Oregon, Ohio, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Banquet Manager to join our team. As the Banquet Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and smooth operation of our banquet events. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution and supervision of events including but not limited to weddings, corporate events, family reunions and other private parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute all banquet events, including but not limited to weddings, corporate events, and private parties
  • Create event timelines and coordinate with all departments to ensure seamless execution
  • Hire, train, and manage banquet staff and ensure that they are knowledgeable and capable of providing high-quality service
  • Set service standards and train appropriately
  • Monitor and maintain banquet inventory, including equipment, supplies, and food and beverage items
  • Oversee set-up and breakdown of banquet spaces and ensure that all areas are clean and presentable at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and regulations
  • Handle all guest inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Collaborate with other departments such as kitchen, sales, and front desk to ensure excellent customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Create and maintain banquet budgets and report on financial performance to management
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications:

  • 21 or older
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in banquet management or event planning
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of banquet operations, food and beverage service, and event logistics
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed professional appearance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
