Diesel Technician

Job Summary: Dimmick Group Peterbilt and Lucky’s Truck & Trailer Sales is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team in East Syracuse, NY. As a Diesel Tech, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that our customers’ vehicles operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Conduct test drives, evaluate components, and diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and specialized equipment.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about additional service needs.
• Provide accurate estimates for additional repairs.
• Execute warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Diesel Technician experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• B-level qualifications, including diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair skills.
• Dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical troubleshooting abilities and proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong customer service skills and basic computer competency.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and improve.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
• Willingness to adapt to new technology, repair procedures, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
