Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving overall business operations to achieve organizational goals and profitability, combined with the company’s marketability and competitiveness in the industry. With creativity and confidence in leadership, this position will train, support, and develop key personnel to maximize potential and ensure quality performance within the organization. This position will use strong visionary leadership skills to identify future needs of the organization, charisma, and enthusiasm to influence and inspire others, and resilience to endure challenges and ever-changing circumstances.

Essential Functions
  • Direct and manage the performance of business operations of a specific business unit or location, including production, purchasing, quality, and safety
  • Assist in the development and execution of general business strategies
  • Measure productivity of the business unit by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports; create and deliver reports
  • Coordinate with support departments such as human resources, finance, and sales to execute plans and improve operations
  • Carry P&L responsibility
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Interface with customers and vendors as needed to resolve technical issues
  • Delegate authority and responsibility to key personnel to ensure operational plans are executed
  • Lead and/or delegate process improvement projects related to productivity, quality, ergonomics, safety, and cost control in conjunction with the Quality Management system
  • Assist in the development of and enforce all company policy, including production, quality, safety, and human resources
  • Manage key personnel; provide coaching, evaluate performance, and provide corrective action as needed
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in a related management position required
  • Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and six sigma preferred
Work Schedule/Travel:
  • Monday – Friday, 45+ hours/week
  • 10% travel: between company facilities, vendor/customer visits, trade shows, conferences
