Early Learning Assistant Teacher

Job Summary

At Susanna Wesley, the Early Learning Assistant Teachers are an essential part of the team that focuses on providing children from birth to 5 years old with a safe and nurturing environment. The Preschool Assistant Teachers work closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure that the children and families receive quality education and care while fostering their growth in God’s love and alongside their peers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be humble, showing respect and understanding in all interactions.
• Must be hungry for knowledge, always eager to learn more about child development and appropriate activities.
• Must be smart, able to plan and execute activities effectively.
• Must have experience working with young children
• Must be good at building healthy relationships with children
• Be willing and able to become Safe Gatherings certified.
• Has a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ, preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide children in the assigned classroom, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning and social interaction.
• Collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher, providing input into lesson planning and curriculum development.
• Maintain compliance with licensing regulations and center policies.
• Actively engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on children's progress and address any concerns.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
