Sales Assistant

Position Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm

Job Description:

The Sales Assistant will be responsible for performing a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support daily operations of the sales team. Their duties include but are not limited to: answering incoming calls, making outgoing calls to customers, preparing quotes and orders in our software system, attending company meetings, utilizing the CRM system (Coppers), covering for account managers when they are out of the office, email correspondence with customers, taking messages on calls regarding claims, obtaining an in-depth knowledge on the treated lumber industry & common industry terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support sales team with clerical and administrative tasks
• Communicate with customers
• Prepare quotes and orders
• Utilize customer relationship management system Coppers
• Attend company meetings
• Covering for account managers in their absence
• Limited to no travel

Qualifications:

• Experience in a sales environment is preferred
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be attentive to customers’ needs and determined to provide customer satisfaction
• Ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, be flexible and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of sales standards and customer service routines
• Must have proficient math skills
• Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, data programs and PowerPoint
• Work well with others and be a team player
• Strong written communication via email and
• The ability to handle high volume/stress situations

A preliminary skills assessment will be required for all qualified applicants. The position is an onsite hourly non-exempt posittion. The position’s pay range starts between $20-$28/hr based on candidate’s level of experience.
