The Conference of State Bank Supervisors offers a summer internship program for undergraduate, graduate, and law school students. The specific dates of the internship are agreed upon by the intern and the hiring manager. This is a paid internship opportunity. Undergraduate students will receive $22.00/hr. Postgraduate students will receive $27.00/hr.

Interns are assigned to a specific area of CSBS. The work is generally project based with the intern expected to deliver a final product at the end of the internship. All interns will receive exposure to all areas of CSBS.

As a cohort, CSBS interns will have an opportunity to collaborate on a team project.

This cohort group will brainstorm and provide a fresh perspective into how CSBS presents VIBE in our job descriptions and how we promote our values on our career page and external job postings. Additionally, we will ask the interns to create a VIBE decision-making checklist. This tool will help ensure we are living into our VIBE by aligning our decisions to our commitment to culture.

IT Infrastructure Operations Internship

This position is responsible for working at the direction of the Director IT Engineer, serving as a technical resource on multiple projects at the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS). The candidate will assist the Enterprise Infrastructure team with support tasks such as: end-user support (assisting helpdesk if necessary), Microsoft M365 Office applications and services, end user hardware & software, mobile devices, conference room audio visual solutions, and Amazon Web Services environment. The candidate may also evaluate new technology solutions, perform market research, best practices study, Proof of Concept development, solution comparison matrix analysis, assist with compliance remediation, assist with systems assessments and remediation as well as work with Engineers on solution implementation. The candidate will be a supporting role in short-term projects such as: Server 2022 Upgrade and System Audits.

Coursework prerequisites: Windows Server Administration or similar, Fundamentals of Networking, or similar. Candidates must list the relevant courses on the resume.

The intern should be prepared to the following listed items but not limited to:

  1. Assist with end-user support.
  2. Assist with M365 environment.
  3. Develop and maintain solutions.
  4. Utilize generally accepted best practices for documenting code.
  5. Participate in Requirements Review and technical presentations.
  6. Work effectively with contractors and outsourcers providing technology services to CSBS.
  7. Develop and make presentations to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Assist with the creation and running of scripts designed to either pull or update data experience with PowerShell would be beneficial.
  9. Assist compliance remediation within the Infrastructure Operations environments.
  10. Assist with documenting processes and procedures.
  11. Assist with updating/modifying group policies for testing.
  12. Provide weekly progress presentations and general statistics.
