Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse

- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding

- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse

- Assist with patient mobility and transfers

- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff

- Assist with medical procedures, such as phlebotomy and specimen collection

- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment

- Document patient care activities accurately and timely using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Cerner

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience

- Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) in the state of employment

- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures

- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred

- Familiarity with home care or senior care is a plus

Skills:

- Spinal tap: Knowledge and experience in assisting with spinal tap procedures.

- Home care: Familiarity with providing care in a home setting.

- Cerner: Proficiency in using Cerner or similar electronic medical records systems.

- Medical documentation: Ability to accurately document patient care activities.

- Hospital: Experience working in a hospital setting.

- Patient service: Commitment to providing excellent service to patients.

- Patient assessment: Ability to assess patients' physical and emotional well-being.

- Senior care: Understanding of the unique needs of elderly patients.

- Primary care: Knowledge of primary care practices and procedures.

- Phlebotomize: Skill in drawing blood samples for diagnostic testing.
