We provide all training and assist with certification on site.

Provides direct care to residents while promoting residents' highest level of functioning and independence as possible. Learns to meet the needs and preferences of each individual. Assists in maintaining residents' environment in a safe and neat manner. Promotes quality services within facility standards, State and Federal Regulations.

Essential Functions

  1. Receives and gives reports to management on resident status at the beginning and end of each shift and as needed. Notifies the management of any changes in the resident's physical and/or mental status.
  2. Provides personal care to residents per their individualized plan of care.
  3. Documents all pertinent information regarding care as assigned.
  4. Prepares residents for meals and assists residents to and from the dining room.
  5. Assists residents with meal set up and eating.
  6. Assists residents with using toilet and incontinence care as needed.
  7. Keeps residents' apartments neat and clean.
  8. Performs vital signs, blood pressure, weights, and other trained procedures directed by management.
  9. Completes prevention and restorative care including, but not limited to, ambulation, transferring, bathing, grooming, and all other Activities of Daily Living.
  10. Maintains a working knowledge of facility infection control procedures.
  11. Assists in turning, positioning, and repositioning residents as outlined in the resident's service plan.
  12. Communicates effectively with the residents, families, visitors, members of the health care team, and other disciplines.
  13. This role is required to report elder maltreatment or elder abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State.
  14. Possesses working knowledge of facility emergency procedures including fire and disaster drills. Follows facility policies.
  15. Maintains resident confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA policies.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Washington State requires the completion of HCA training or greater within 120 days of hire and be credentialed within 200 days of hire with a completed and passed test.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements

  • Must meet all health requirements, including TB.
  • Must pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background process.
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Compassion for and desire to work with seniors!
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and drug test (not including marijuana in Washington State).
  • Excellent time-management skills and has a pleasant, professional, and personable manner.
  • Must be able to understand and effectively communicate orally and in writing with residents, guests, supervisors, co-workers, vendors, and others, most of whom speak only English.
