Job Title: Cold Saw Machinist I

SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring that company products meet customers’ machining standards and specifications. Generally, is capable of working with very simple prints, no geometrics or tolerancing, minimal skill level and setup experience; also capable of running only a few, simple machines with constant supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities - None

Duties

1. Completion of documentation (e. g. Routers, etc).

2. Supports all downstream manufacturing work centers by cutting or polishing of material/product.

3. Verify dimensions to blueprint using basic measuring instruments (calipers, tape measure, and height gage) and calculation tools to reach specifications.

4. Will work with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Sales, etc in order to determine proper sequencing, procedures and priorities.

Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting and pushing/pulling. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress

associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.

General Qualifications:

1. Able to read, understand and follow job-routing instructions accurately.

2. Able to measure, and verify conformance to standards, using specific measuring equipment, and/or by visual examination.

3. Knows how to operate machining equipment in a safe manner.

Education and/or Experience

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from High School, or that would provide required knowledge, skill and ability to successfully perform the assigned job duties.

Language Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

Basic mathematics skills.

Reasoning Ability

Able to work in a fast-paced shop, with quickly changing work priorities, and with minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT

WORK ENVIRONMENT

100% machining/shop floor environment; routine lifting to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required to wear protective equipment, e g, eye and hearing protection where required. This position requires work in factory facility.
