Irrigation Technician & Installer

Job description

• Perform all irrigation activities including, but not limited to, setting components, excavating and backfilling trenches, repairing breaks and malfunctions, and winterization of systems.
• Operate power equipment to perform irrigation services, including but not limited to trenchers, pipe pullers, boring units, plate compactors, line locators, drills, etc.
• Use irrigation hand tools including, but not limited to, shovels, spades, pipe cutters, rakes, etc.
• Communicate with immediate supervisor about any malfunctioning equipment and all site problems experienced.
• Analyze property needs and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain a high level of quality, efficiency and customer service.
• Full-time, W-2 position.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 2+ years experience preferred.
• Experience and knowledge of irrigation installation, service, start-up, winterization, and repair.
• Previous experience operating a trencher, pipe puller, skid steer, and backhoe preferred.
• Must have the knowledge and ability to properly identify irrigation problems and take appropriate action to make repairs.
• Backflow Certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Self-motivated and a quick learner.
• Possess strong social, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and customers.
