Tri State Staffing in Goodland, KS is looking for one employee health nurse to join our 43 person strong team. We are located on 1819 Cherry Street Suite 200. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and hard-working.

Employee Health Nurse

Provides direct employee health services to clinical and non-clinical staff. Collaborates with nurse leaders to incorporate processes. Performs direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence to Joint Commission standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Provides direct employee health services to clinical and non- clinical staff.

2.   Collaborates with Nurse leadership, Human Resources, patient care staff, and in the planning, implementation, and delivery of employee health services

3.   Ensure competency of all new and returning staff.

4.   Establish and implement employee health orientation programs, alongside the nurse leadership, throughout the facility

5.   Work alongside Human Resources to establish onboarding policies and procedures to include; PPD, Influenza vaccinations, and pre-employment/random drug screenings.

6.   Will be responsible for all pre-employment testing and vaccination processes, annual N95/TB/ Influenza testing and/or vaccinations, and the management of potential blood exposures, employee illnesses and disease outbreaks.

7.   Participates as an integral team member, collaborating with various departments and colleagues, including Director, Human Resources, and others as needed to advocate for employee health and safety.

8.   Supports administration with employee health databases, maintains complete and accurate employee health records

9.   Provides patient care services in staffing facilities.

Minimum Job Requirements

·        Registered Nurse

·         Current Kansas and Colorado nursing license, or compact license in good standing.

·         Minimum one year acute care experience.

·        Current BLS, PALS, ACLS and TNCC Certifications.

·         Willingness to work in Emergency Department, Acute Care and Long Term Care.

·         Non-Smoker

·        Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

·        Thorough knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards within area of nursing expertise.

·        Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.

·        Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.

·        Detail oriented and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and address issues through the use of a combination of delivered and custom-developed tools

·         Ability to compile, code and categorize, or verify information/data

·         Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations

·         Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude

·         Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information

·         Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner

·         Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner

Conditions of Employment

·        Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening

·        Must maintain certification status.

·        Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with facility and Tri State Staffing’s vaccination requirement.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

·        Work is performed in an interior medical/clinical environment.

·        Light physical activity. Work may involve occasional assistance of others in the manipulation of heavy objects and some standing or walking, usually for not more than 2 hours a day.

·        Work may involve some exposure to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.
