Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician will uphold the safety policies our company has created and oversee the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed. Previous experience with quality inspection in the manufacturing industry required.
Shift:
Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm but hours could vary based on production needs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure product meets design specifications and/or customer expectations through inspection and testing of raw materials, purchased components and finished goods, and production processes.
- Responsible for the following in Q.A; O.E.M. and/or competitive part layout to print, recommend and purchase gauging
- Responsible for performing, recording, and maintaining receiving inspection functions.
- Performing receiving inspections on product with 48 hours of receipt of product.
- Responsible to complete the initial evaluations of customer and warranty returns within 48 hours of receipt.
- Responsible for investigating and documenting incoming and supplier Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMR).
- Maintains Gage Calibration System.
- Assists in maintaining the library of QA sample parts.
- Measures sample parts and measure dimensional layouts for PPAP’s.
- Performs capability studies, gage calibrations, R&R studies, and other QA functions.
- Assists in the investigation and documentation for Corrective Actions/Continuous Improvement activities.
- Acts as primary operator and administrator of the Comparator.
- Responsible for the timely support of the production area through problem resolution.
- Works with Engineering to assure the quality of vendor supplied product.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area using the 5S process and follows all safety policies and procedures.
- May be required by management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
- A successful candidate with an associate degree or have equivalent work experience preferred.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to interact with all levels of staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Must be attentive to detail, accurate, have strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.
