Position Title: Audiology Technician

Reports to: Operations Manger

Location: Superior, WI

Employment Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt


POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Audiologist in the performance of audiologic evaluations and the fitting of hearing aids. Provide direct patient support for walk-in and telephone hearing aid problems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist Audiologist in Audiological Evaluations
  • Taking accurate ear mold impressions
  • Preparing the mold for shipping
  • Tracking hearing aid orders and communicating with vendors
  • Monitoring supplies
  • Routine repairs of hearing aids
  • Clean and maintain audiologic equipment in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Provide chart review as needed
  • Instruct clients in the proper maintenance, cleaning and use of hearing aids and/or assisted listening devices (ALD)
  • Communicating and documenting patient education and reports in the medical record
  • Cerumen Management
  • May routinely be required to do a variety of previously unforeseen tasks in order to assist with the smooth function of the Audiology clinic

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

  • High school graduate or equivalent and training
  • One-year experience as Audiology Technician is preferred
  • One-year previous medical experience or training in medical fields (such as medical assistant, lab assistant, LPN).
  • Dependable, professional, punctual and must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
  • Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
  • Provide proof of the following tests:
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA)
  • Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Acellular Pertussis
  • Influenza
  • OSHA regulation concerning occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
