- Provide speech therapy services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the appropriate treatment plan
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient evaluations, progress, and treatment plans
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech and swallowing
- Experience in case management, including coordinating care with other healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices
- Ability to work in acute care settings, including ICU and critical care units
- Excellent patient care skills, including empathy, active listening, and effective communication
- Proficient in conducting patient assessments using standardized tools and measures
