Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the design and debug of electronic circuits across the entire lifecycle of various electronic products.

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  1. Test and debug circuit with the aid of customer requirements, schematic, bill of materials, PCB layout artwork, etc.
  2. Decompose and combine, customer and internal requirements to specific hardware design requirements
  3. Design (or verify if reusing existing design) electronic circuits that meet customer requirements
  4. Develop tests (or update if reusing existing tests) to validate design to customer requirements.
  5. Work with suppliers to select appropriate components and ensure supply throughout the life of HM designed part
  6. Support calibration and EOL FFT stands and equipment
  7. Research innovative and effective solutions (circuit designs, component selections, etc.) to customer requirements
  8. Manage database of approved parts used across multiple project

Qualifications:

  1. Circuit design
  2. Capability to design and develop Schematics, analysis of circuit design to requirements, verification of performance to requirements
  3. Schematic Capture and Circuit Analysis Tools (Cadence preferred but other tools acceptable)
  4. Familiarity with motors, sensors and electromagnetics (EMI/EMC) desirable
  5. Familiarity with digital communications protocols (CAN, LIN, SENT, I2C, SPI, etc.) desirable
  6. Strong Knowledge of Electrical Hardware and Microprocessor Architecture
  7. Power Electronics Design and Analysis of 3 Phase machines
  8. Design, Build, and Test of Electrical Hardware Design and Processor Interfaces
  9. Bench, Test Stand, and Vehicle debug and analysis
  10. Ability to read schematics and PCB layout
  11. Mechatronic hardware design and debugging with Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic analyzers, etc.
  12. Embedded systems test design and execution
  13. Basic programming skills
  14. Documentation (customer requirements capture and interpretation)
  15. Requirements capture
  16. Additional useful skills/experience:
    1. Knowledge of Freescale, Infineon, TI processors
    2. Knowledge of ISO 26262 Safety Standards and Requirements is preferred
    3. Knowledge of Customer Specific CAN tools and Requirements (CANalyzer, CANape Preferred)
    4. Matlab/Simulink
    5. Excel/Visual Basic
    6. Thermal Analysis Tools, Ex. Ansys or Flowtherm
    7. IPC 610 Standards Class II and III, and other applicable IPC Standards Preferred

Technical Competencies:

Minimum of 5 years experience in Electrical Schematic Design and Development. Masters plus 2/3 years of industry experience acceptable

  3. Good interpersonal skills with clear communication (Korean and Chinese language skills a plus)
