Job Description

The Maintenance Tech III is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: Perform minor carpentry, general inside and outside repairs, minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting/decorating, minor remodeling, furniture moving and storage, vehicle and equipment care, and overall general maintenance. Inventory control and pick up and delivery of equipment and supplies. The Maintenance Tech III has a high degree of personal integrity, generates positive energy, and makes a difference every day. Will also support the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide supreme customer service, always being courteous, responsive, professional, and helpful to the organization’s internal and external customers.
2. Be familiar with AFC Licensing Rules and Regulations.
3. Travel to multiple locations throughout Michigan providing first-response to facility maintenance assessment and repairs, as assigned by Supervisor.
4. Troubleshoot problems, remain flexible, and provide solutions to diverse repair and maintenance issues.
5. Work in conjunction with Supervisor to respond timely to work order requests. Schedule and coordinate work with program personnel.
6. Conduct repair needs assessment while visiting the program; bring any potential issues to the attention of Program Manager and Supervisor.
7. Perform facility repairs including, but not limited to:
o Installation: light fixtures, lighting controls, outlets, shelving, garage door openers
o Electrical: repair and replacement
o Plumbing: repair and replacement
o Repair/Replace: linoleum tile, toilets, sinks, faucets, blinds
o Carpentry: decks, cabinets, bookcases
o Décor: painting, wall hangings, window treatments
o Maintenance: molding and weather-stripping, caulking, power washing, heavy cleaning
o Moving / Storage: facilitates furniture and equipment moves from one site to another or from one room to another
o Involvement in program open/close as needed
o Light shrub and tree trimming as directed
o Involvement in program opening(s)/closing(s), facility audit readiness and vendor procurement as needed
8. Report, promptly and urgently, to management any safety related items noticed while performing projects or tasks.
9. Provides accurate cost estimates.
10. Point person for outside maintenance and construction vendors.
11. Act as project manager for specific jobs as needed.
12. Fire prevention and prepreparedness; checking fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, means of egress, fire doors and sprinkling system.
13. Groundskeeping, snow removal and snowplowing as needed.
14. Adhere to high level of health and safety practices in physical facilities and in corporate vehicles.
15. Create/maintain facility repair documentation and provides internal reports.
16. Maintain and use tools, solvents, etc. as intended.
17. Maintain accurate accounting and receipts during credit card use; reconcile monthly per Policy.
18. Ordering and pickup of equipment and supplies.
19. Maintain sensitivity to the consumers served while completing a given project.
20. Make certain that 95% of your training and events requirements are renewed prior to expiration date, as appropriate, as specified by job.
21. Maintain accurate accounting of daily activities and time spent on job utilizing electronic work order system and communication with supervisor.
22. Daily and monthly inspections of building, equipment and vehicles as requested.
23. May be required to provide oversight to consumers employees as needed.
24. Maintain a professional demeanor.
25. The ability to adhere to the requirements of P.L. 104-191 (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996). Ability to adhere to the requirements and the standards issued there under by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and all Hope Network policies and procedures resulting therefrom, regarding individually identifiable health information concerning individuals served or employed by Hope Network.
26. Other duties as assigned.

Educational / Talent Requirements:
1. High School Diploma, GED Certificate or equivalent experience in related field.
2. Complete and maintain all required trainings, certifications, and credentials.
3. Valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Hope Network policy; ability to travel independently in assigned areas.
4. Excellent teamwork skills, time management, and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
6. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
7. Strong communication skills – both orally and in writing.
8. Strong problem solving skills to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
9. Ability to properly use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
10. Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
11. Ability to work under challenging conditions.
12. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Work Experience Requirements:
1. 5+ years related experience.
2. Major carpentry experience.
3. Electrical & plumbing experience.
4. Knowledge of tools and equipment necessary to perform maintenance tasks.
5. Working knowledge of vendor relations, contacts and maintenance tasks.
6. Previous experience working with people with disabilities preferrd but not required.
7. Project management skills.
