Position Description and Performance Requirements

Position Overview

The position of Market Manager (MM), is in charge of a specific market located within a defined area of the country. The MM is accountable for the day-to-day activity, performance, and operational obligations as set by AHFP.

Areas to include, daily operations, human resources, any contractual obligations, brewer relations, wholesaler relations, and retail client relations. This role provides direction, leadership, and management to the Draft Quality Technicians (DQT), Draft Service Technicians (DST), Draft Install Technicians (DIT), and Assistant Market Managers

This position will have numerous subordinates and the total may vary as determined by the Regional Market Manager (RMM), Director of Line Cleaning Operations (DLCO), Partners, and Ownership.

This position will report directly to the RMM but will have accountability to the DLCO, ownership, operational partners, and to other key executive personnel.

Position Responsibilities

Manage the varying personnel as defined above on an ongoing basis. The Market Manager will work closely with the Assistant Market Managers on an ongoing basis. Provide guidance, management, support, and oversight to include evaluations, reviews, enhancements, or changes to job descriptions as needed.

This Market Manager will manage the day-to-day activity of the assigned market.

This position will be held accountable to the overall financial and performance obligations assigned to the market.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide quality leadership, constructive problem-solving, and creative solutions in all management categories while upholding AHFP Core Values.
  • Achieve financial and profit expectations as dictated by the budget process.
  • Manage the team through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  • Be knowledgeable of sales team activity.
  • Manage all required tools and technologies as deemed necessary to the AHFP spp and any third-party software that AHFP may include currently and in the future.
  • Work closely with the RMM, department heads, the DLCO, and other executive staff to set the vision, goals, budget, and overall business plan for sales.
  • Work closely within the market to evaluate market trends and gather competitive information, identify trends that affect current and future growth of sales and profitability. Communicate important information to the sales team, corporate marketing, and operations.

  • Evaluate departmental needs on an ongoing basis

Specific Additional Responsibilities

  • Supervise the setup of our schedule of events at the beginning of each month that will note any monthly cleanings, beer events/festivals, special events, billing cycle, and employee-related days off.
  • Organize weekly operations meetings that will outline the upcoming week for all employees.
  • Build an effective route for each draft quality tech taking into consideration the number of draft lines, the type of system, and the location that will allow for the maximum amount of lines cleaned per day.
  • Follow the check-in/check-out procedure with all AHFP employees.
  • Supervise the organization of a weekend "on-call" schedule and ensure all weekend calls get handled correctly.
  • Follow daily and weekly audit schedules.
  • Build relationships with bar/restaurant owners, GM's, managers, and bartenders. Go on 1(one) employee ride-along per week.
  • The market manager can help with scheduled cleanings, but draft quality techs will be evaluated on how they conduct their day.
  • Review billing for each cycle (bi-weekly or monthly).
  • Manage the backend portal of the AHFP draft line cleaning smartphone app.
  • Note and relay any glitches to the IT department for repair.
  • Follow up for any new accounts that have been added.
  • Add new accounts to existing routes.
  • Add correct information for new distributors such as brands and account information.
  • Maintain inventory levels of the necessary equipment and parts for each draft quality tech. Place orders at the beginning of each month from a preferred vendor to limit shipping costs.
  • Responsible for AHFP vehicles.
  • Schedule routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
  • Compare gas card records against vehicle location to make sure only AHFP vehicles are being filled up with gas cards.
  • Check vehicles regularly for proper inventory and cleanliness.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) and three years of successful management experience, preferably in the hospitality segment.
  • 3 years in related industries
  • Strong experiences in the draft beer industry preferred

Travel

  • Personal and reliable vehicle required

  • Travel is required on a limited basis. Localized travel is expected and annualized travel for meetings and trainings should be anticipated as a regular part of this position. Travel will encompass the defined marketplace but also AHFP's corporate offices periodically.

Starting Salary

  • $50,000 + growth opportunities
