Diesel Mechanic

Diesel Mechanic now sought by Messina Talent for our client in Sutton, Nebraska. This position will primarily concentrate on handling the maintenance and repairs for trucks, pickups, trailers, and small equipment, to free up other mechanics to go on service calls for the larger equipment (on the job site). This position will primarily stay at the shop and not go onto job sites to do service calls, however, that may be necessary from time to time. This position will work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (minimum) and can work overtime as there are always things to be done.

Primary Functions of the Diesel Mechanic Position:

Troubleshoot and repair the following:

• Dump Trucks
• Semis
• Pick Ups
• Trailers
• AC Systems
• Electrical issues
• Emissions issues
• Engine overhauls (in frame and out of frame)
• Clutches
• Transmissions
• Differentials

Also:

• Weld
• Oil Changes and general maintenance and winterize all equipment
• Be able to diagnose problems with and without assistance from computer diagnostics
• Keep shop clean/organized
• Prioritize workflow in the shop
• Unload deliveries that come to the shop, may need to use equipment to do so

Diesel Mechanic Job Requirements:

MUST HAVE 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.

Knowledge of the following software (ideally):

• Norgen (scan tool for trucks)
• Mitchel 1 (service manual for pickups/semis)
• SIS – Caterpillar
