Senior Plant Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Your expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance will contribute to the overall success of our company. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills. This is a senior-level position that requires in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

Pay: $75,000-$85,000

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

   • Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
   • Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful insights into financial performance.
   • Assist in the preparation of management reports, forecasts, and budgets.
   • Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

2. General Accounting:

   • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
   • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
   • Reconcile bank statements and other financial records to maintain accuracy and completeness.
   • Monitor and review general ledger accounts and make necessary adjustments.

3. Compliance and Audit:

   • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
   • Prepare and coordinate the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as needed.
   • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize risk.
   • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide support during tax audits.

4. Process Improvement:

   • Identify opportunities for process improvements and streamline accounting procedures.
   • Participate in system implementations or upgrades to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
   • Propose and implement best practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of the accounting function.

5. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

   • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and management, to support business initiatives.
   • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA qualification is preferred.
• Must have experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, demonstrating progressive responsibility and leadership.
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively, meeting deadlines consistently.
