Chemical Lab Technician

Volt is immediately hiring a Chemical Lab Technician to work onsite for a local leading organization in Pontiac, IL.

As a Chemical Lab Technician, you will:

Primary Responsibilities

• Associate degree in science field or 5-year lab experience.
• Maintain and operate various lab equipment such as IR Spectrophotometer, GC, viscometers, particle counters used in the non-routine analysis of wash chemicals, coolants, and oils.
• Lab test central system coolants 2X weekly. Maintain data. Make biocide and other specialty chemical additions to central systems and washers.
• Test viscosity of test stand fluids per weekly schedule - calibration and hydraulic oils. Generate weekly reports. Issue cleanouts.
• Measure water content in quench oils.
• Perform QC testing on inbound coolants, cleaners, and oils.
• Perform fuel lubricity testing.
• Monitor humidity and temperatures daily in various locations throughout the facility.

This is a Full Time, Contract opportunity.

Shift:

• This position will work 1st Shift, Mon to Fri. No relocation assistance is available, candidates out of state must be able to relocate at their own expense.

Duration: 12 Months
Location: Pontiac, IL 61764
Pay Rate: $24 to $30 per hour.
