Head Women's Basketball Coach

DESCRIPTION
The Women?s Basketball Head Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the women's basketball team, including player development, game strategy, and program management. This leadership role is instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the court. A teaching or support staff assignment will be made according to education and experience.  

This is a full-time, exempt position (12-month contract) with employee health and basic life insurance paid by the college. QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor?s degree and coaching experience is required; college-level preferred. Must have solid coaching knowledge, develop winning strategies, and have good communication skills. Must have a valid driver?s license.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Women's Basketball Head Coach shall:
 

1. Recruit talented players for purposes of attending college and playing basketball;
2. Develop and finalize the season schedule, ensuring a balanced and competitive lineup of games and identify referee officials for home games;
3. Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, promoting personal and academic development.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes mutual respect, communication, and collaboration.
5. Collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff to coordinate practices, travel arrangements, and game logistics.
6. Engage with the community to promote the women's basketball program and build strong relationships with fans, alumni, and stakeholders.
7. Ensure students are meeting the College?s academic progress expectations by monitoring academic grades and implementing appropriate interventions when needed;
8. Monitor and enforce both NJCAA and MACC Athletic Eligibility Guidelines;
9. Oversee the maintenance and inventory of sports equipment and supplies, ensuring the team is adequately equipped for practices and games;
10. Assist the Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and Director of Security when requested with residential life concerns;
11. Engage with the Greyhound Booster Club, attending meetings and collaborating on initiatives to support the athletic program;
12. Participate in fundraising events and activities;
13. Support the marketing department by providing game/athletic game results in a timely manner, sharing student athlete success stories, and promoting athletics in the community using social media;
14. Adhere to policies and regulations as outlined in the Policy Handbook;
15. Attend professional meetings as required;
16. Oversee and make recommendations for departmental budget;
17. Perform any other duties as requested by the Athletic Director and Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
