Teamvantage, a Velosity Company is searching for an Automation Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our automated manufacturing systems. Your primary responsibilities will involve troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing automation solutions across our plastic injection molding processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in automation, with expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance, repair, and proactive problem-solving.

Salary: $80,000-$105,000 (based on experience)

This is an on-site position supporting our Forest Lake location.

Requirements

  • Preferred technical degree in automation, robotics, or equivalent field.
  • A four-year degree in engineering or related discipline is desirable.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferred, in a production environment maintaining, troubleshooting, and integrating automation solutions to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

Essential Functions

  • Work cooperatively with all employees.
  • Identify and integrate automation solutions to increase efficiency and throughput.
  • Understand the budget/schedule, manage capital expenditures, and provide ROI justifications to leadership.
  • Responsible for the management, design, deployment, and implementation of automation projects hardware and software that monitor and/or control the manufacturing process.
  • Troubleshoot, program, maintain and repair automation systems in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to the new product development team to develop and integrate design for automation solutions into product designs and assemblies during the development phase.
  • Support the development of automation system specifications when requests for quotations are required for custom work cell solutions that involve automation.
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing development engineering team and external suppliers as work cell designs that involve automation solutions are being developed.
  • Provide technical support to the production and manufacturing teams for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance team and/or external contractors to install, modify and/or adapt automation and automation systems.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for automation equipment/systems and work with the maintenance team to implement the specific tasks in IQMS.
  • Stay abreast of automation and automation trends to continually improve, advance, and implement automation to better support production needs, increase efficiency and throughput and reduce product costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
