The Florida Department of Health in Brevard County is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who enjoys helping those members of our community who are seeking quality medical care. This is a full time (40 hour/ week) 8AM - 5PM, Monday through Friday, on call hours 2 weeks a month with no weekend or holiday work required except in the unusual event of a natural disaster. Must be able to perform independently with the primary responsibility to perform specialized and comprehensive care to clients of women's Health/Family Planning. Family Planning services are provided according to the Federal Title X Guidelines. ln addition, must be able to assess, diagnose and treat STD diseases and related conditions. Work is performed under the supervision of the County Health Department Executive Medical Director. * Perform physical appraisals and routine gynecology exams for women's health, STD clients and other clinical services. Ensure records are documented correctly using electronic medical records. * Provide care in an outpatient setting for maternity clients with knowledge of medical management of medical complications during pregnancy and interpretation of antenatal testing * Initiate, interpret, and evaluate laboratory results. * Prescribe medications following standards of care, including through Electronic Medical Records * Provide education and contraceptive services to teenagers in a Teen Clinic. * Perform Family Planning services, including initiating inserting, and removal of long-acting reversible contraception such as but not limited to Nexplanon and Intrauterine Devices * Serve as preceptor for mid-level practitioners to include physician assistants and nurse practitioners in master level programs. * Provide public health services as required during a disaster, including manning of Special Needs Shelters in the event of a public health emergency. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and experience in women's health. One year experience in women's health Preferred - Ability to perform colposcopies. Spanish bi-lingual. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: Current Florida or Multistate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license or Midwife certification and FL driver's license.
