Salary:

Summary

Heavy Machinery Operators operate excavators, loaders, pavers, and other machinery that contribute to our construction and paving operations. 


We are currently seeking candidates that will help us execute our project in Nashville, TN. 


Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the manufacturer’s and company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist mechanic(s) and provide recommendations for repair, maintenance, and improving performance.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials from job-site surfaces, vehicles, and/or trailers.
  • Ensure company equipment, material, and the worksite are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or as needed for a specific piece of equipment.


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of heavy machinery operator experience on a construction/paving site, required. 3+ years, preferred.
  • Experience operating any or all of the following:
    • Excavators
    • Loaders
    • GOMACO Slip Form Paver
    • GOMACO Concrete Belt Placer Spreader
    • GOMACO Cure-Texture machine
    • GOMACO 9500 RTP
    • ABG Titan Paver
    • Voegele Paver
  • Heavy or highway construction experience, preferred.
  • If you have a Union affiliation, please indicate on your application (personal summary and application question).
  • Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance. 
  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.

Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.


We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia as well as corporate/back office operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations.
