Responsible for performing Engineering functions at Mobis. Process Engineering is responsible for the establishment and administration of sound Engineering policies and procedures to assure that product engineering designs meet customer requirements. The Engineering Manager will provide maximum support to the Production & Quality Control departments with improved production processes, efficiencies, and outstanding engineering customer service.

Requirements:

Essential Duties:

  • Participates with the Sales Dept. on new product launches or engineering changes.
  • Assist in cost estimating as needed.
  • Coordinates and supports new launch programs along with participating in “APQP” meetings.
  • Develops and implements aids to assist the Quality Department in creating an “error-free” production environment.
  • Develops the production process via MODAPTs and scroll
  • Provides control and timely implementation of Standardized Work Instruction (SWI), illustration, and instruction sheets, for the standardized work assembly process
  • Evaluate equipment drawings and provide control and engineering changes to assembly equipment.
  • Supports and provides PM recommendations, based on equipment vendor feedback
  • Deals directly with other salary staff on day-to-day operations along with hourly team members
  • Deals with and works with cross-functional teams, in cases of Quality related issues from our customer
  • Recommends modifications and purchases of equipment to maintain the highest level of engineering integrity.
  • Supports the communication network with staff functions and the Plant Managers to most efficiently and effectively produce parts of optimum reliability & quality within or below cost boundaries.
  • Supports in cost control methods within the Engineering function.
  • Supports in providing strategic planning and submits timely Engineering plans.
  • Supports in identifying improvements and changes at the facility, through cost and efficiency improvements
  • Performs special assignments as delegated.

Education / Skill / Experience Requirements:

College degree in Engineering with 0-3 or more years of experience in the automotive field. Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and in-depth knowledge of best engineering practices in the automotive production facility. Other Requirements. Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and computer skills are required.
