Employment Specialist/Job Coach
Tifton, GA | Temp to Perm | $10.00 / Hour

We are looking for an employment specialist to be responsible for providing training and support in the following areas: discovery process, profile development, job development, job analysis, systematic instruction, on-going job support. The employment specialist will focus on an outcome of successful community employment and are responsible for assisting individuals in obtaining a job by creating a positive job match; maintaining a job through on-site assistance and other workplace supports; and advancing careers with career development.

Responsibilities:
  • Gathers assessment data and assisting the individual supported to develop a list of interests and potential skills to complete a Vocational Profile on each individual assigned
  • Develop a job that matches the person’s skills and desires as learned through the Discovery Process and Profile
  • Gathers employment information by doing job analyses at business sites in order to match a person with a position
  • Upon procurement of employment, work directly with each individual to learn the job tasks, understand the job expectations and increase skills in job related areas such as job knowledge, appearance, attendance and punctuality, appropriate social relations and job/community safety
  • Provides one to one training on a job site using Systematic Training Techniques
  • Provides job retention services to the employer and person with disability
  • Is the primary liaison/communicator with the employer to assure job expectations are known and understood and provides proper training on job tasks to maximize long term successes.
  • Maintains relevant data for performance reporting to funders and vocational rehabilitation
  • Responsible for completion of documentation pertaining to overall support of the individuals and for related duties
  • Participates in team meetings and development of ISPs for individuals supported; generates and implements ideas for goals/outcomes to help individuals recognize and reach their full potential in terms of work and employment
  • Keep supervisor (or assigned designee) informed of any problematic issues or changes with the individual or in the daily operations of the agency
  • If applicable, provide transportation of individuals following transportation policies and procedures
  • Complies with all applicable regulatory agency regulations and procedures as well as the policies and procedures of the workplace
  • Performs other duties as assigned, and aids coworkers and the manager with additional duties as needed

    Requirements:
  • Pass Drug Screening
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience or a combination of experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree, preferred
  • One year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred
  • 21 years of age minimum
  • Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance
  • Clear tuberculosis screening
  • Working knowledge of developmental disabilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Ability to use computer and computer systems and applications to complete online training, documentation, and other responsibilities is required
  • Ability to obtain job certifications required, including but not limited to: First Aid, CPR, and MANDT

Location: Tifton, Georgia
Pay Rate: $10.00 Hourly
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
