Job Description

Our client is a well-established software solution provider supporting the National Cyber range. For an upcoming contract award, we are looking for several Network Engineers (JrMid) who can support NCRC events. Due to the work involved, we can only consider candidates with or who have held aDOD Secret clearance.


The Network Engineer will implement servers and clients and configure operating systems, services, applications, storage, virtualization, and custom software to support test, training, and cybersecurity evaluations of DoD systems and associated computing environments. Tasks include implementing and testing software from various DoD environments, implementing services and architectures to support the execution of test events, and assisting with advancing other services and capabilities offered at the NCR. The system admin will also support the Range Operations component of the NCR and perform tasks to maintain the operations of servers and infrastructure within the NCR data center.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MIS/IT Degree or relevant experience
  • Understanding server administration, architecture, specifications, software, networking, virtualization, etc.
  • Hands-on experience administering servers, desktops, and thin clients, including scripting (Python, Linux shell, PowerShell).
  • Experience with common industry operating systems such as Windows, Server 2008-16, Linux, Solaris, RHEL, etc.
  • Understanding networking protocols, securing and hardening operating systems and software to meet DoD requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites; approximately 10% travel
  • Self-starter with a desire to solve problems.

Desired Skills:

  • System administration experience in DoD environments, including requirements analysis, evaluation, configuration, and testing of custom software and configurations.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, and other relevant certifications, Microsoft, Linux, and VMWare.
  • Familiarity with both -based networking and virtualized platforms and capabilities.
