Job Description
Okanagan Specialty Fruits Inc. (OSF) is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Moses Lake apple processing facility. This position is critical with hands on preventive and reactive maintenance, repairs and fabrication for all production plant equipment; pneumatic, plumbing, electrical controls, robotics, conveyer systems and baggers/slicers. The Maintenance Technician must have the ability to troubleshoot, identify issues, make repairs, anticipate job needs, improve on current processes, and monitor changes to ensure proper operation of all equipment and building facility needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze mechanical and electrical problems on all equipment and take corrective action
- Making necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality on all processing/packaging and product handling equipment
- Initiate/complete work orders for any repairs necessary to the facility or equipment
- Assist the department in maintaining spare parts inventory and organized
- Perform preventive maintenance checks and inspections of all equipment
- Work closely with production staff to ensure safety of all employees and product safety during all maintenance activities
- Recommend improvements to the CMMS Program
- Complete all required workplace safety, quality assurance and food safety training within a set timeframe
- Fabrication of parts and equipment
- Earn and maintain Forklift Certification
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager

- Experience with pumps and basic electrical skills essential
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controller
- Experience with Vertical form, fill and seal bagging machines
- Experience in TIG / Sanitary Welding
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Instrumentation & Industrial Automation Technology Certification and/or
Manufacturing and Processing Technology Certification preferred
- 2+ years maintenance experience in a food production/manufacturing environment
- Highschool or GED Preferred
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- The ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends and OT as needed
- The ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- The ability to stand, walk, reach, and move for long periods of time
- The ability to stand, walk, ascend, and descend stairs and or ladder
- The ability to work in varying working climates, i.e., temperatures may vary from very hot to very cold, wet/damp for extended periods at a time
- Exposure to loud noises
- The use of safety equipment when operating machinery that may include protective clothing,
safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety shoes
