POSITION OVERVIEW

The Housekeeper’s primary responsibility is to take great care and pride in ensuring the public and common areas of the apartment community are well-maintained, kept neat and tidy and cleaned regularly. The Housekeeper also assists the service team by deep cleaning vacant apartments to ensure they are ready for showing to prospective residents

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Completes weekly cleaning schedule per policy by maintaining the cleanliness of public areas by dusting and cleaning the following (not limited to): furniture, picture frames, mirrors, windows, baseboards, carpet edges, inside and outside door panels, door ledges, thresholds, and gym equipment. This includes maintaining the building’s exterior by taking trash to the waste bins, picking up litter and ensuring walkways are free of debris.

Demonstrates an “eye for detail” when performing cleaning tasks that include mopping, sweeping, waxing, wiping, washing, dusting, and vacuuming.

Assists residents and their guests in a courteous and efficient manner; and plays a vital role in ensuring overall resident satisfaction by achieving 4.0 or higher on Satisfacts results for resident move-in surveys, and a 4-star rating on social media sites.

Completes service requests that pertain to housekeeping needs for residents moving-in or out, tidying-up model apartments and cleanliness of public areas.

Participates in snow removal per community requirements, not limited to snow shoveling, snow blowing and de-icing walkways.

Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment (i.e., shop, pool maintenance room, storage areas); helps the engineering team to meeting 75% in-house market ready unit status by the end of each month.

Communicates in a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, management, residents, vendors, and all outside contacts; and works with team members to accomplish tasks, helps others in fulfilling service requests for residents.

Uses discretion and maintains confidentiality of co-workers, management, owners, past and current residents, vendors, and all outside contacts.

Ensures what they do on a daily basis contributes to the overall resident experience; and helps their team achieve: 60% monthly renewal retention, meet monthly budgeted physical occupancy, meet budgeted Variance Expenses for ‘Janitorial Supplies’; meet budgeted Variance expenses for ‘Apartment Turnover’ for ‘Cleaning Services’; meet ‘Net Rental Income’ objectives.

Maintains consistent and timely attendance, sets an example for their co-workers in punctuality.

Adheres to established policies related to the Fair Housing Act; and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 1-year of housekeeping experience in a hotel, commercial office, or apartment community.

Availability to work a flexible schedule; any day of the week including weekends.

Ability to write, read and communicate professionally in English.
