Warehouse Supervisor

DiVal Safety Equipment, a leader in the industrial safety, Fire, and EMS distribution business, is looking for an associate with a “whatever it takes” attitude. The focus of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operations, delegate, empower, and become an advocate for your team, while maintaining a safe, credible, and positive working environment. To directly report to the Corporate Satellite Warehouse Manager and to ensure all branch staff are living within DiVal’s values.

Duties and Responsibilities –

- Responsible to complete ‘A Day’s Work in a Day’ to include but not limited to:

  • Ensure all Purchase Orders that arrive are received and put away within 24 hours.
  • ‘Facting’ maintenance of the warehouse completed daily.
    • (F.A.C.T.S. = face product, align product, clean/cut, tag, and sweep)
  • Focus on safety at all times — providing a safe working environment for all employees with weekly safety training, enforcing policies for equipment while addressing unsafe conditions providing documentation, disciplinary action (if necessary) and continual training.
  • Responsible for the upholding certifications needed to safely transport hazardous materials, while adhering to all D.O.T. regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with direct manager, customers, vendors, and other DiVAL staff.
  • Assist with the investigation of any issues that question warehouse credibility addressing all concerns with the highest sense of urgency.
  • Collaborate with your manager to develop continuous technological improvements working in conjunction with the I.T. department to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with manager and HR to address personnel needs by assisting in the recruiting, training, and development process.
  • Potential for travel opportunities to other satellites for support.
Skills and Requirements –
  • Strong communication/organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to assess personnel and processes with an eye towards continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lift, up to, 50 pounds. on a repetitive basis.
  • Problem-solving skills to handle customer complaints and production issues.
  • Possess advanced computer experience with proficiency Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • AS400 background preferred.
  • RF training a plus along with formal warehouse equipment training including but not limited to; forklift, order picker, reach truck and scissors lift.
  • High school diploma / GED equivalent
