South College invites applications for the position of LPN Program Coordinator for the School of Nursing at the South College Knoxville Campus. The LPN Program Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean of Nursing and is responsible for supervising all aspects of the Certificate in Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program; including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, compliance, development, implementation, and general effectiveness, including instructor supervision. Also, the LPN Program Coordinator teaches in his/her assigned area, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction, is responsible for faculty training and development, and coordination and administration of the academic program for achievement of student outcomes.
The LPN program in Knoxville is an evening/night program. The LPN coordinator will need to have a working presence on the campus. Some evening hours will be expected and courses taught will also be during evening hours. Supervision of weekend clinicals may also be expected. This is a 40 hour week position.
Candidates must evidence the following:
• Minimum of an earned Master of Science degree in Nursing
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
• Hold an unrestricted RN license to practice in TN or in one of the eNLC compact states.
Preferred qualifications:
• Familiarity with Tennessee Board of Nursing
• Proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning
