Job Description
HR Business Partner
Key Responsibilities:
Administration of and compliance with all applicable laws, Corporate HR requirements, policies and procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Advise business units on how best to develop and deliver HR initiatives that support business objectives
Partner with the business to enable improvement in culture, leadership development and succession plans
Support the development and continuous improvement of HR systems and policies in line with best practices
Guide and coach supervisors and managers on employee relations, labor relations and general HR related issues in line with Company policies (including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance, and attendance management)
Support processes aligned with meeting business objectives (i.e., participate in training, interviews, investigations)
Support other needs within the HR team as required, e.g., projects, operational issues, data management
Administration of the job bidding process
Provide administrative support to the department in relation to HR functions
Maintain strict confidentiality
Activities:
Partner with the business to enable leadership to make decisions related to personnel in alignment with management expectations and standards
Provide assistance as needed to Labor Relations, Employee Relations, and Systems/Communications Managers
Assist employees on HR related matters
Advise management on grievance and labor relations strategy
Provide direct labor and HR support to assigned areas
Provide training to business leaders on labor relation matters
Oversee summer hire process
Monitor probationary employee evaluations
Facilitate grievance meetings and recommend resolutions
Assist Labor Relations Manager and/or conduct preparation for arbitration and 3rd step grievance cases
Lead investigations and recommend actions to the business
Ensure consistency of contract administration and discipline
Participate in recruiting efforts and perform interviews for internal and external candidates
Work with Operations to manage and recognize employee performance matters
Support the negotiations team during contract negotiations
Coordination of facility transportation, represent HR on the bus committee, and make transportation arrangements for company events
Support staffing and headcount planning for assigned areas
Lead business and continuous improvement projects
Conduct and/or facilitate leadership development training
Support ISO 9000 efforts
Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field and 2-4 years of relevant experience, OR
High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Effective negotiations and influencing skills
Labor and/or Employee Relations experience
Experience with mediation or conflict management
A relevant mix of education and other experiences will be considered
Final determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership consistent with the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) skills matrix and considering the candidates education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
