YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

As a Youth Care Worker, you're a key player in our mission. With your supervisor's guidance, you craft daily activities that help young folks gain independence. Think of yourself as a mentor, passing on valuable life skills, social know-how, and ways to cope. Plus, you spice things up with educational and fun activities.

Your secret sauce? Training in our CARE practice model and the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) system. They help you keep the atmosphere safe, positive, and therapeutic. You learn about each person's trauma history and triggers, allowing you to handle tough situations using de-escalation tricks. But here's the real kicker: the safety and well-being of residents, physically and emotionally, is your top concern, and you're awesome at keeping everything documented. Every day's an adventure with new challenges, making your work incredibly fulfilling!

Here's what we need from you:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability and willingness to learn the CARE practice model and TCI system as well as apply their principles
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
  • A desire to be a youth mentor

A bachelor's degree in human services and related experience is preferred but not required.
