Summary/Objective

The Certifying Scientist is responsible for analyzing the results of the complex scientific tests.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Analyze, interpret, and report LC-MS/MS data and certify clinical toxicology patient results reports results with reliability, accuracy, and integrity.
  2. Identify and troubleshoot assay performance issues.
  3. Communicate with laboratory, sales, and customer service staff concerning laboratory results or questions.
  4. Comply with established federal, states, and departmental policies and procedures, including: CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, safety, compliance, and QA.
  5. Monitor quality control program(s) to ensure that acceptable levels of analytical performance are maintained for each test system.
  6. Perform and ensure that proficiency testing is conducted in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
  7. Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control and assurance policies and document quality control activities.
  8.  Ability to work independently without direct supervision

Qualifications, Knowledge and Competencies

Qualifications: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Certification by ASCP, AMT, or AAB, Medical Technologist License (or Medical Laboratory Technician) in State of Florida and laboratory experience.

 

Knowledge: Apollo LIMS, Shimadzu LCMS, Insight

 

Competencies: Technical Capacity, Decision Making, Problem Solving/Analysis, Results Driven

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time IN OFFICE position. Days of work are Monday through Friday, and hours are day shift and specified by the manager.
