Unit Director - Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills
The Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills in Hill City, SD is seeking a motivated and compassionate Unit Director to join our dedicated team. As the Unit Director, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe and positive environment for the youth in our community.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and supportive work atmosphere.
- Develop and implement a variety of engaging programs and activities designed to enhance the educational, physical, and emotional development of our club members.
- Oversee the daily operations of the unit, including program planning, facility management, budgeting, and staff scheduling.
- Build strong relationships with club members, families, school personnel, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the mission and vision of the Boys & Girls Club.
- Ensure a high standard of safety and adhere to all established policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to club members to foster their personal and academic growth.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to meet the evolving needs of club members.
- Collaborate with other Unit Directors within the organization to share best practices and promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as education, social work, or child development) or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience working with children and youth, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage personnel, resources, and programs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
