Operations Manager

Great opportunity to lead a multi process high speed, packaging, manufacturing plants production departments. The successful candidate will lead a team of 125 in a 24-7 Operation. You will Plan, direct, and prioritize activities related to production, including asset reliability, to meet and exceed our customer requirements.

• Coordinate production operations to obtain optimum production and cost effective utilization of people, machines and materials.
• Develop and implement operating methods and standardize procedures designed to prevent defects and improve product quality.
• Ensure maintenance of and adherence to Quality Management and Environmental Management systems.
• Utilize team-base problem solving to resolve production problems, involving and utilizing the knowledge of the associates.
• Inspect equipment and audit work practices to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment, identify and resolve safety concerns.
• Ensure clean and orderly workplace.
• Promote communication between shifts and departments keeping all informed of current production issues and changes in our business and market conditions.
• Ensure company policy and rules are enforced consistently fairly. Aid the HR in facilitation resolutions of associate concerns.
• Increase manufacturing flexibility and associates skill level by utilizing effective training techniques.
• Implement continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing, 5S Six Sigma.
• Coordinate actions to reduce all elements of manufacturing costs.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan facility operations.
• Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Reviews production and operating reports and leads resolution of operational, manufacturing, and delivery problems.
• Reviews financial spending in all departments.
• Plays a key role in budget preparation.
• Develop or revises standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with standards.
• Conducts daily meetings with plant leadership group to review any plant or customer issues.
• Reviews the safety performance and training programs for the facility. Provides Leadership and direction to Plant Health & Safety Committee.
• Shares responsibility for the overall morale of the facility.
• Leads all departments in drive to improve efficiencies and reduce scrap.
• Assists in evaluating employee performance.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuos Improvement and High Speed Packaging Manufacturing required.
